What I cannot do

The one thing I cannot do is give you personal medical advice. I cannot tell you when you are fit to fly, whether your operation clears the interval yet, whether a symptom is worth worrying about, or what precautions your particular case needs. Those are questions for the surgeon who performed your operation, or the doctor managing your care. They can assess you; a website and an inbox cannot.

For that reason, please do not send me the sensitive detail of your health. Leave out your operations, your diagnoses, your medications and anything else you would not want sitting in an ordinary email. I cannot act on it, ordinary email is not a secure place for it, and it belongs with your own clinician. If something like that reaches me anyway, it goes into no record and is deleted once I have replied. There is more on this in the Privacy Policy.

Corrections

Airline rules move and clinical guidance is revised, so a figure that was right last year can quietly date. If you find something in a guide that reads wrong or has aged, email me naming the article with a quick word on what looks off. The Editorial Policy explains how I handle corrections and how the medical review works.
