Privacy Policy

Reading up on travel after surgery often happens quietly, late, and privately, and that reading should stay yours. TripKinetics (“we”, “us”) is built to collect as little as it possibly can. This policy is laid out as a set of plain questions and answers.

What does this policy cover?

It covers tripkinetics.com and nothing else. It explains what can happen when you open a guide, follow a link, or write to me. The outside bodies I link to, the CAA, NHS, CDC, WHO and the charities on the Resources page, are not covered here; each keeps a policy of its own.

What does the site actually collect?

Very little, and nothing about your health unless you choose to tell me:

• Anything you email me. If you write in, I receive your message and whatever it contains, such as your name and email address.
• The basic mechanics of serving pages. Delivering the site securely means my hosting and content delivery network handle technical groundwork like your IP address and the browser you use.
• Plain analytics with no names attached. I may keep aggregate counts, such as which guides are read most, so I can see which writing earns its place. This is measured through a restrained analytics tool that masks IP addresses and does not follow you around the web.

What should I never send you?

Please keep the sensitive detail with you. Do not email me the medical specifics behind your trip: your operations, your conditions, your medications, or your recovery. This matters more here than on most sites, because the whole subject invites people to explain their health, and ordinary email is not a secure or private way to carry that. I cannot act on it, I have no part in your care, and it belongs with your own clinician. If something like that reaches me regardless, it joins no record and is deleted the moment I have replied.

Why hold anything at all?

Three reasons, and no fourth: to keep the site running and secure, to see which writing actually helps travellers so I can improve it, and to reply to the messages you send.

Is anything shared or sold?

No. Your details are not for sale, no advertising profile is built from them, and nothing here tracks you across other sites. The only outside services that touch anything are the two the site cannot run without: a content delivery network and the restrained analytics tool mentioned above. Beyond those, nothing personal about you moves anywhere unless the law requires it.

How long is anything kept?

An email stays only until your enquiry, and any sensible follow up, is settled, then it goes. Aggregate analytics linger no longer than a general trend needs to stay legible.

What are my rights?

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what I hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to limit how it is used, or to object to a particular use. To act on any of that, write via the Contact page and my reply will follow what the law calls for.

What about children?

The site is meant for adults planning their own travel, not for children, and I will not knowingly collect anything from someone below the age of valid consent in their own country.

Will this policy change?

Possibly, as the site grows. The “Last updated” date above shows the version in force, and continuing to use the site after a revision is how you accept the new wording. If a passage is unclear, the Contact page reaches me.
